Job Description

Referral Coordinator Sound Family Medicine, a private family practice in Puyallup is looking for a Referral Coordinator. This is a great opportunity for the experienced professional or if you are just starting out in your career in the healthcare field. We are looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused, self-motivated and organized individuals to join our team. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, tech savvy, have good phone etiquette and very dependable. Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Schedule:
.75 FTE; This position will work 30 hours/week.
Position Summary:
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of all referral requests by providers, clinical staff, and occasionally patients in a timely and professional manner. The Referral Coordinator will represent Sound Family Medicine (SFM) within the medical community in a positive, courteous, and compassionate manner that will aid in the delivery of high-quality health care to all patients. Contributes to the success of the clinic by providing prompt, efficient, and friendly service via in person or over the phone. The duties assigned include, but are not limited to: Process all referral requests in a timely manner Receive and respond to daily phone calls regarding referrals Assist with resolving referral processing Support patients, providers, and specialists with obtaining the necessary documents and prior authorizations required Attend to communications from staff, consultants, and patients Maintain accurate and thorough documentation Demonstrate solid communication to patients, providers, and team members for effective and efficient patient care
Required Certifications & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent: Required One year of insurance authorization: Required One year of EPIC experience:
Preferred Health Requirements:
Documentation of negative TB test . PPD skin test or QuantiFERON test completed within the last calendar year . Documentation of TDaP vaccine within the last 10 years . Sound Family Medicine is a smoke-free, drug-free workplace. All employment offers are conditioned upon acceptable pre-employment drug tests which include testing for the use of marijuana and nicotine.
