Supervisor, Inpatient Rehab JOB OVERVIEW
This is an exempt professional position, responsible for facilitating daily appropriate staffing for all inpatient units, expedient, and professional care to include direct supervision of clinical staff. The position includes an understanding of staffing, scheduling, and working with multidisciplinary teams. Includes assisting with interviewing, orientation, training, and evaluation of team members. Includes understanding budgetary constraints, monitoring productivity and premium hour variance. The position requires an understanding of the VMC Policies and Procedures, state, and federal regulations to allow for appropriate billing and provision of services. Program development, quality improvement, staff development, team leadership and delegation, student supervision roles also are a component of this position. This position requires independent decision making to ensure appropriate staffing. DEPARTMENT

Current Washington State PT/OT/SLP
License upon hire. Eligible or current ASHA Certification for CCC-SLP and NBCOT for OTR. Minimum three years clinical experience within the last five years, required. Minimum two years of involvement in leadership activities and demonstrate progression of increasing level of responsibility, required. Certification in area of specialty, preferred. Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite. BLS required. QUALIFICATIONS
High level, autonomous clinical practice. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form in the English language. High level of interpersonal skills, such as active listening, diplomacy, and conflict management and communicating with a diverse population of staff and patients. Proven ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, flexible and adaptable manner. Ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and multiple tasks. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Able to learn new computer programs (for example related to productivity). Ability to grasp budgeting concepts and ability to work within a budget plan Analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to give and take direction. Demonstrated ability to mentor and counsel others. Ability to discuss needed improvement in work performance. Ability to assist with decisions about staffing, patient models of care, quality management and an understanding of productivity. Demonstrated leadership capability in clinical setting. Attendance record that sets a good example to those who will report to them. Able to complete annual performance reviews with the assistance of the manager. : Occasionally to frequently requires transfer of patients weighing up to or exceeding 200 lbs. needing maximum assistance from bed to wheelchair and back to bed. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires ability to assist in transporting patients to various locations on the VMC campus for evaluations, treatments, or discharge. Requires hand dexterity for manual treatment techniques and to operate equipment as specific for discipline etc. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds to complete patient care responsibilities. Must also be able to handle patient complaints & staff concerns to resolution and departmental emergencies as they arise. Delegation, listening and counseling staff/ volunteers/students on patient care needs is also a component of this position. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports, trains, and mentors staff so that they can reach their highest potential. Coordinate training and orientation of new staff. Coordinate staff education as needed and maintain staff education records. Direct supervision of clinical staff. Create or modify department work plan utilizing available resources. Maintain efficient workflow. Oversee, enhance, and facilitate staff interactions. Maintain good communication with staff and manager/director to ensure consistent practices. Problem-solving with physicians, patients and families, and staff as necessary. Works to promote a collaborative environment. Participate and facilitate staff meetings as necessary. High level clinician with the ability to support direct patient care during times of need and mentor staff in area of clinical practice.
