About Seattle Epidemiologic Research and Information Center (ERIC) The Seattle ERIC is hiring full-time Research Coordinators (GS-09) to support the Integrated Veteran Epidemiologic Study Data Resource (INVESTD-R).
INVESTD-R
is a VA-wide initiative that promotes open science by sharing research resources including data, biospecimens, and participant contact information, generated by epidemiologic research on Veteran data. Under the direction of the
INVESTD-R
Program Manager, the Research Coordinators will coordinate multiple
INVESTD-R
projects including the ORD Research Data and Biospecimen Repository (ORD SHARE), a public-facing information clearinghouse, and other tools and resources for data sharing. This position is based at the VA Puget Sound HCS in Seattle, WA and is not eligible for remote work.
Duties Key Duties:
Support the development and execution of
INVESTD-R
activities, including but not limited to
ORD SHARE
Coordinate daily operations and regulatory documentation for
ORD SHARE
Collaborate with CSP study teams, data managers, and technical experts to coordinate the ingestion, maintenance, and provision of ORD SHARE's resources Conduct or coordinate initial recruitment activities with Veteran participants Develop and improve data collection instruments, perform data collection and entry Develop and maintain manuals, standard operating procedures, and best practices for data sharing Develop, improve, implement, and maintain effective quality control standards to ensure

resources are accurate and curated effectively Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, access agreements, licenses, and contracts Serve as a primary contact for VA and non-VA researchers accessing
ORD SHARE
resources Collaborate with stakeholders including Center leadership, study teams, lab personnel, and oversight bodies Collaborate with local VA facility staff and national CSP and ORD staff who are involved in INVESTD-R and related open-science efforts Qualifications BA/BS in a scientific- or health-related field and 3+ years of Human Subjects research required OR Master's or higher degree in a scientific- or health-related field and 1-2 years of Human Subjects research required Note any education outside the United States needs to be evaluated through a foreign education evaluation agency service Experience with research instrumentation and data collection Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, maintain a high level of attention to detail, and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities through strong organizational and time-management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred:
Experience with Microsoft Access, REDCap, SharePoint, and Power BI Previous Research Assistant or Project Coordinator role in an academic or government setting Experience in or knowledge of data sharing and open science principles and practices Understanding of epidemiologic research design and methodology Application instructions Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
