DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW
Medicine Ambulatory Care Services is responsible for the operational, administrative, and clinical support of outpatient clinics to achieve organizational goals in patient care, education, and research. The department oversees clinic operations, including staffing, workflows, facilities, finance, patient access, and regulatory compliance, ensuring high-quality, safety, and cost-effective care delivery. Through a collaborative dyad model with Clinic Medical Directors and alignment with senior leadership, the department supports the integration of clinical and operational functions, advances strategic initiatives, and contributes to the achievement of UW Medicine's Ambulatory Care Operating Plan and "Patients Are First" priorities.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees daily clinic operations, patient flow, and resource utilization to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality care. Drives quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and effective use of technology and data to enhance performance and outcomes. Develops and manages the clinic budget, optimizing revenue, expenses, and volume to meet financial and growth targets. Provides strategic direction, fosters collaboration, and leads continuous performance improvement aligned with organizational goals. Recruits, develops, evaluates, and schedules staff to ensure a competent workforce aligned with clinic needs and compliance requirements. Ensures adherence to regulatory standards, documentation requirements, and audit processes to maintain clinical and operational integrity. Promotes a patient-centered culture by modeling service excellence and addressing patient concerns proactively.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree relevant to service area At least 3 years' leadership experience in health care program management An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Challenge. Collaboration. Compassion.
