Senior Manager, Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Our client is seeking a Senior Manager, Inpatient Pharmacy Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership for hospital-based pharmacy services within a complex acute care environment. This individual will oversee inpatient pharmacy operations, lead multidisciplinary teams, drive process improvement initiatives, and ensure the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality pharmaceutical care. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience, deep inpatient pharmacy expertise, and a collaborative approach to partnering with clinical and operational stakeholders. This role is on-site in Seattle, Washington. Senior Manager, Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for inpatient pharmacy operations across a 24/7 acute care hospital environment. Lead and develop teams of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, interns, and supervisory staff while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and professional growth. Partner with hospital, physician, nursing, and clinical leaders to design, implement, and optimize pharmacy workflows that support patient care and operational excellence. Drive strategic initiatives focused on quality improvement, medication safety, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. Oversee pharmacy service delivery, ensuring efficient medication management processes and adherence to clinical and organizational standards. Manage operational and project budgets, resource planning, and performance metrics to support departmental objectives. Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to standardize best practices and improve consistency across inpatient pharmacy services. Monitor regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies. Support formulary management, medication-use initiatives, inventory strategies, and drug utilization programs that promote safe and cost-effective care. Lead change management efforts, staff communications, and implementation of new programs, technologies, and process enhancements. Utilize operational and clinical data to identify trends, address challenges, and support informed decision-making. Senior Manager, Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent pharmacy education required. Active Washington Pharmacist License required at hire or ability to obtain prior to start. National Provider Identifier (NPI) required or obtainable within designated timeframe. Minimum of five years of experience as a pharmacist in an acute care inpatient hospital setting. Minimum of three years of leadership experience with direct responsibility for hiring, performance management, and staff development. Minimum of two years of experience managing operational and/or project budgets. Demonstrated experience overseeing inpatient pharmacy operations and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Proven success developing, implementing, and maintaining clinical workflows in partnership with physicians, nursing teams, and hospital leadership. Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, medication safety practices, and healthcare compliance requirements. Experience leading operations within a large, fast-paced, 24/7 hospital environment preferred. Completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 residency preferred. Experience supporting Critical Care, ICU, Med-Surg, Emergency Department, Urgent Care, Infusion, or related acute care services preferred. Previous experience in a unionized healthcare environment preferred. Experience supporting hospital growth, expansion, or major operational initiatives preferred.
Salary:
$231K-$268K/year.
