Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties The Department of Water Resources' Division of Multibenefit Initiatives (DMI) is seeking a collaborative, strategic, and mission-driven Program Manager I to help lead a dynamic and fast-growing statewide portfolio of multibenefit ecosystem, land stewardship, and instream flow enhancement projects. DMI is an interdisciplinary division committed to delivering high-impact environmental and community outcomes while advancing the Department's priorities for Healthy Rivers & Landscapes, climate resilience, nature-based solutions, and integrated water management. DMI fosters a culture of transparency, teamwork, effective communication, prioritization discipline, and continuous improvement, reinforced through structured leadership, workshops and collaborative processes across branches and divisions. Staff work in highly matrixed teams that value efficiency, clear communication, and shared accountability for statewide program delivery. Supervisors and managers participate in community-building activities, open forums, and cross-branch coordination to strengthen relationships and promote trust and connection across the Division. Permanent, Full Time Department Information Division of Multibenefit Initiatives, Project & Policy Management Branch, Sacramento Department of Water Resources (DWR) was established in 1956 by the California State Legislature. We manage California's water resources, systems, and infrastructure, including the State Water Project, in a responsible sustainable way.
