Job Description

The University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a dedicated Referral Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end process of obtaining insurance approvals for patient treatments, pre- and post-treatment testing and follow-up care. You will handle complex benefit coverage requests across various payor types, including Commercial insurers, Employer-funded plans, Managed Care, Medicaid and Medicare. Acting as a vital communication link, you will coordinate between patients, physicians, insurance providers and referring offices to ensure smooth referral processes.
Qualifications:
2 to 5 years of experience working with third-party payors, including insurance verification, benefits review, contract analysis and negotiations At least 1 year of experience processing referrals and securing authorizations/pre-certifications Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with medical terminology Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized effectively Prior experience in Radiation Oncology is highly preferred Experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus
