Are you passionate about improving the health and development of young children and supporting families in North Iowa? NICAO is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1st Five Coordinator to lead our 1st Five Healthy Mental Development Program and help ensure children receive the support they need during their most critical years of development.
Position Summary:
The 1st Five Coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the 1st Five Healthy Mental Development Program throughout NICAO's service area. This position works closely with healthcare providers, community partners, educators, and families to promote early identification of developmental concerns and connect children to appropriate services and supports.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all aspects of the 1st Five Healthy Mental Development Program. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, policies, and program requirements. Develop and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, schools, and public service agencies. Coordinate program reporting, grant management, budgeting, and community needs assessments. Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate program staff. Build and maintain referral, care coordination, and follow-up systems for children and families. Conduct provider trainings and support implementation of developmental screening and referral practices. Promote positive public relations and community engagement throughout the service area.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Education, Counseling, Nursing, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Knowledge of child health and development. Experience working with healthcare providers, community organizations, and diverse populations. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation required.
