LOCATION OF POSITION MDH
Office of the Secretary, Baltimore MD\r\n Main Purpose of Job This position provides senior-level leadership for the development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide health workforce strategy that integrates public health and health care delivery systems. The position serves as a central point of coordination for health workforce planning activities within the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) and across partner state agencies.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe position exercises independent judgment and discretion to align workforce initiatives, support career pathway development, advance recruitment and retention strategies, enhance community partnerships and leverage multiple funding streams to strengthen Maryland's health workforce in support of statewide health priorities and health equity goals.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and six years of health or human services administrative or professional experience, including three years at a supervisory or managerial level.\r\n\r\n\r\nA Master's degree from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the general experience and a Doctorate will substitute for two years of the general experience. Additional experience will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the college degree.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Desired candidates should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Knowledge of Maryland's health workforce across the full continuum, including both public health and health care\r\n Experience working in state government or large public-sector systems\r\n Experience leading cross-agency or systems-level initiatives\r\n Experience advancing workforce strategies\r\n Skill in strategic planning, program coordination, and stakeholder engagement\r\n Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, partners, and policymakers\r\n\r\n\r\n
