Position Summary The Perinatal Quality Collaborative of North Carolina ( PQCNC) is leading transformations in the delivery of value based perinatal healthcare in North Carolina and nationally. PQCNC is a statewide organization currently working in 62 North Carolina hospitals with delivery services. Teams in these facilities include family representatives and perinatal medical and nursing providers partnered with payer and state leaders united in our determination to make North Carolina the best place to be born. PQCNC conducts statewide quality improvement initiatives that focus on spreading best practice, partnerships with families and patients, and resource optimization. PQCNC is seeking an enthusiastic and determined individual with skills that include perinatal health, clinical quality improvement, public health, or medical anthropology expertise to serve as a PQCNC Initiative Manager. This position will be a full time, EHRA non-faculty appointment. The Initiative Manager will use professional expertise, communication skills and quality expertise to assist in the development, organization, and execution of statewide quality improvement projects that include from 10-60 centers. The Initiative Manager will work in coordination with Lead Clinical Physicians for maternal and newborn projects, the other members of the PQCNC core team and individual initiative Expert Teams. On a day to day basis the Initiative Manager will be supervised by the Program Manager, but this position is under the direct supervision of the PQCNC Director. This position will be responsible for coaching and facilitating up to 60 hospital and clinic quality improvement teams conducting current PQCNC initiatives. S/he will support these teams throughout the course of these initiatives. This support will include monthly calls to review current progress,state of current measures, design of small tests of change (PDSAs) to further work towards achieving project aims, and developing methods to assess the impact of these changes and spread them throughout the facility. If the selected candidate does not live in the state of North Carolina, you are required to relocate to North Carolina within 6 month of your hire date. Attendance required at quarterly learning sessions in person and for site visits, which will arise and cannot be predicted. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Must have quality improvement training and QI experience. The Initiative Manager will possess the professional expertise, communication skills and quality expertise to assist in the development, organization, and execution of statewide quality improvement projects that include from 10-60 centers. This will require a combination of regular communication with hospital teams across the state via email, phone, web conferencing and in person visits. The applicant will be capable of assessing hospital and clinic performances based on performance data and team input and support hospital teams in achieving the clinical goals of individual initiatives. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience The Initiative Manager will preferably have experience in quality improvement science. Familiarity with the provision of perinatal care, its effective execution in variable clinical environments, and the effective engagement and partnership of health care teams with patients and families is desirable.
