Job Description

The Healthcare Project Manager is responsible for leading healthcare development and fit‑out projects from early planning through close‑out, with a focus on medical office buildings and hospital facilities. This role manages complex projects in active, patient‑facing environments, including occupied renovations and new construction, while balancing scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Success in this role is defined by the ability to bring clarity to ambiguity, coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders, and drive projects to timely, safe, and compliant completion despite evolving clinical and operational constraints.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead multidisciplinary healthcare stakeholders to define program, equipment, and operational requirementsBuild trusted client relationships and mentor project team membersManage healthcare regulatory compliance, licensure coordination, and occupied‑facility requirementsSupport feasibility, due diligence, clinical planning, and early project validationDevelop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and procurement activitiesDirect construction activities to maintain schedule, budget, safety, and quality-often in active healthcare environmentsOversee contractors, risk management, reporting, and coordination with authoritiesLead commissioning, turnover, close‑out, and post‑project evaluationQualificationsDegree in a design, engineering, or construction‑related field preferred.8+ years of experience delivering complex healthcare or institutional projects across planning, design, and construction.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and constraints concurrently.

Confident negotiator with sound judgment and independent decision‑making capabilities.

Candidate must be currently based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area.

Professional certifications and proficiency with standard productivity and scheduling tools are a plus.
