Department Chair, Management & Marketing (or designated Program Coordinator) Position Summary The Adjunct Instructor of Health Organizations Administration is responsible for delivering high-quality undergraduate instruction focused on the core principles and dynamics of healthcare administration. This role emphasizes bridging theory and practice by integrating real-world healthcare leadership, operational, and organizational experiences into the classroom. The successful candidate will engage students in understanding the structure, management, and strategic challenges of modern healthcare organizations while fostering critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and professional development. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Deliver undergraduate instruction in Health Organizations Administration and related disciplines. Develop and implement course content aligned with established curriculum, student learning outcomes, and assurance of learning (AoL) standards. Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including case-based learning, applied projects, and experiential activities, to enhance student engagement. Integrate current healthcare industry practices, leadership principles, and ethical considerations into course delivery. Assess and evaluate student performance in a timely and constructive manner. Maintain accurate academic records in compliance with university policies and procedures. Support institutional initiatives related to student success, retention, and academic quality. Participate, as appropriate, in program-level assessment and continuous improvement efforts consistent with AACSB expectations. Maintain regular and meaningful communication with students and department leadership. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Administration, Public Health, Business Administration (with healthcare focus), or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Progressive professional experience in healthcare management, including roles such as manager, director, or equivalent leadership positions within healthcare organizations. Demonstrated ability to apply healthcare administration principles in operational and strategic contexts. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree (DHA, PhD, DBA, or related discipline) from an accredited institution. Prior teaching experience in higher education (undergraduate or graduate level). Experience with online and/or hybrid course delivery. Knowledge of healthcare policy, finance, quality improvement, and organizational leadership. Professional certification such as Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives ( FACHE ) or equivalent. Experience contributing to organizational performance improvement, accreditation, or regulatory compliance inititiaves. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive understanding of healthcare systems, organizational structures, and administrative functions. Ability to translate complex healthcare concepts into effective teaching and learning experiences. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to student engagement, academic integrity, and inclusive excellence. Ability to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making. Physical Demands Ability to communicate effectively in person and/or via electronic platforms. Ability to perform essential instructional functions in classroom and/or online environments.
