Health and Wellness Manager FLSA:
Full-time, Exempt Reports to:
Chief Program Officer Position Summary:
The Health and Wellness Program Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of community-based health and wellness initiatives that align with the organization's mission. This role ensures that programs promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for Latino populations, especially underserved or at-risk communities. The Manager will work closely with staff, volunteers, community partners, and funders to deliver effective, inclusive, and measurable wellness outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, train, and supervise program staff for the mental health, Steps for Autism Family Education ( SAFE), and health and wellness programs, interns, and volunteers. Collaborate with the Director of Social Services in finding ways to improve procedures and clients' services. Develop and manage health and wellness programs, including nutrition education, fitness classes, mental health support, preventive care outreach, and partnerships with local organizations that provide health care to the refugee and immigrant community. Identify community health needs and develop events and activities to address those needs. Oversee the logistics, including scheduling, staffing, location setup, materials, and participant engagement for events and scheduled activities. Develop outreach strategies to recruit program participants and raise awareness through community events, workshops, and social media. Ensure programs are culturally competent, accessible, and inclusive to all community members. Supervise case management services for the clients in the SAFE program. Develop a process for ensuring documentation quality and compliance within the department. Review mental health cases and elevate any concerns to the director of social services. Review clients' cases and provide guidance to the team. Provide performance feedback and ongoing professional development opportunities to their team members. Track program metrics, outcomes, and participant feedback. Keep track of invoices and billing expenses for the mental health providers and communicate those to the financial department. Analyze data to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Prepare reports for leadership, funders, and stakeholders. Support grant writing, reporting, and donor engagement efforts. Ensure program compliance with funder requirements and organizational policies. Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant data, and expenses. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master's preferred). Minimum 2-5 years of experience in health and wellness program coordination or nonprofit programs. Experience working with Latino or community populations is strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership, management, and organization. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Strong Supervisory skills Experience with program evaluation and reporting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data tracking tools (e.g., Excel, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms). Bilingual or multilingual skills (English and Spanish) are a plus. Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and being able to administrate and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities Knowledgeable about available resources for Latino immigrants
Working Conditions:
Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Local travel to program sites and partner locations. While performing the duties this job requires, the employee is regularly required to sit, to talk, to hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Employees may occasionally lift and/or move objects of up to 20 pounds.

$55,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
