Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced HCAi Project Architect (AIA) to lead healthcare design projects through programming, schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of healthcare facility designincluding
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage healthcare projects as Project Architect from project initiation through close-out, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.
Serve as primary client contact for architectural and technical matters; develop strong client relationships and translate clinical and operational requirements into design solutions.
Prepare, review and coordinate construction documents and specifications using Revit and BIM workflows; ensure constructability and compliance with codes and
Navigate
Coordinate multidisciplinary team members (structural, MEP, interior design, medical equipment planners) to resolve design issues and integrate systems.
Conduct code analyses, life-safety reviews, and infection-control design coordination for hospitals and outpatient clinics.
Lead construction administration activities including submittal review, RFIs, site observations, change order review, and punchlist management to protect design intent and project quality.
Mentor junior staff and provide technical oversight, QA/QC review, and guidance on best practices for healthcare projects.
Contribute to business development and proposal efforts by preparing scopes, schedules, fee estimates, and presentations for healthcare clients.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare codes, OSHPD/CDPH requirements, and industry best practices to advise project teams and clients.
QualificationsLicensed Registered Architect (RA) required; AIA membership preferred.
NCARB certification preferred or in good standing.5+ years of experience serving as Project Architect on healthcare projects (hospitals, clinics, outpatient facilities); demonstrated experience with
Proven experience with HCAI processes, OSHPD plan review and approvals, and healthcare-specific regulatory compliance.
Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination; strong working knowledge of construction documentation standards and detailing.
Deep understanding of healthcare planning, clinical adjacencies, infection prevention, equipment planning, and life-safety codes.
Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, consultant coordination, and client communication.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to clients and regulatory agencies.
Ability to perform site visits and construction administration duties; travel to project sites as required.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or equivalent professional degree.
