Job Description

Position SummaryA nationally recognized architecture and design firm is seeking a Healthcare Project Manager to join its Richmond, Virginia office. This role is responsible for leading complex healthcare projects from planning and design through construction, with a strong focus on client service, team coordination, and project execution. The successful candidate will bring proven healthcare experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in a fast paced, collaborative environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management and LeadershipManage healthcare projects through all phases including planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, bidding, and construction administrationServe as the primary point of contact for healthcare clients, user groups, consultants, and contractorsManage project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables while maintaining quality standardsAnticipate project challenges and proactively develop solutionsHealthcare ExpertiseLead projects such as hospitals, outpatient facilities, medical office buildings, ambulatory care centers, and specialty clinicsCoordinate clinical planning and user group meetings involving complex stakeholder inputEnsure compliance with healthcare specific codes, standards, and guidelinesTeam and Consultant CoordinationLead integrated project teams including architects, engineers, and specialty consultantsReview and coordinate consultant documentation to ensure alignment and technical accuracyMentor and guide junior staff as appropriateTechnical and Regulatory OversightEnsure compliance with applicable codes including
IBC, FGI
Guidelines, NFPA standards, and accessibility requirementsOversee quality control of drawings and technical documentationSupport sustainable and resilient design goals where applicableQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related fieldProfessional licensure as a Registered Architect is required8 or more years of project management experience with a strong emphasis on healthcare facilitiesProven ability to manage complex, large scale healthcare projectsStrong understanding of healthcare delivery models, regulatory environments, and facility operationsProficiency with Revit, Microsoft Office, and project management toolsExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsWork EnvironmentPosition based in the Richmond, VA officeHybrid flexibility may be available based on project and team needs
