DESCRIPTION
Amazon seeks a Principal Medical Advisor to drive clinical excellence for our global clinical excellence program, serving millions of employees and their families worldwide. You will apply your clinical expertise to shape healthcare solutions on an unprecedented scale, partnering with technology teams to innovate in digital health while solving complex challenges in cancer prevention, early detection, navigation, and survivorship. This role will provide medical expertise to support strategic healthcare initiatives across regional employee health programs. Partner with Benefits, Occupational Health, Corporate Medical Services, and Technology teams to translate clinical insights into scalable solutions that improve employee health outcomes. Key job responsibilities Drive clinical decision-making for employee health programs Partner with technology teams to inform digital health product development, translating clinical requirements into user-facing solutions Respond to employee health escalations requiring medical expertise within established service level agreements Develop clinical protocols and best practices that ensure quality and consistency across programs Influence healthcare strategy by presenting clinical recommendations to senior leaders Navigate ambiguous environments to address complex employee health challenges without established solutions Balance employee health needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives in decision-making Stay current on healthcare trends, regulations, and innovations in clinical care
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of professional experience Experience working in fast paced environments, and managing workload even during times of stress, or escalated activity Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams Experience communicating complex concepts clearly and persuasively to different audiences Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Experience working in cancer care, oncology, or healthcare environments with significant cancer program exposure MD or DO with active, unrestricted medical license Board certification in relevant specialty (internal medicine, family medicine, or related field with demonstrated cancer care experience)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions Specialty training in oncology, hematology, population health, or cancer program design and management Experience in healthcare innovation, digital health, or health technology applied to cancer care Experience leading multi-site or multi-regional cancer care programs Board certification in relevant specialty on medical or radiation oncology Additional certifications in public health, healthcare administration, or oncology subspecialty Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
