New Hire Experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Job Summary:
Establish and maintain the district hearing and vision screening schedules in accordance with district guidelines and state legislation; perform related tasks to ensure adherence to screening process; disseminate information and provide direction to the appropriate parties regarding hearing and vision screenings; monitor hearing and vision screener certificates; and provide administrative clerical support for assigned departmental personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Design the hearing and vision screening schedule each school year to maintain compliance with state regulations. Flexibility is required to modify the schedule throughout the school year. Upload the hearing screening schedule to MPS Audiology website every spring Print screening forms and distribute appropriately based on the hearing screening schedule Manage data from the technicians' contact sheets on the School Screenings Stats folder in the shared drive Handle special request calls and emails, schedule appropriately, and manage data Create and disseminate weekly technician schedules including assigning a team lead for all school screenings Manage screening teams and find replacements in the event of staff absence Maintain documentation of hearing and vision screener certification Monitor dates that hearing screening results need to be entered into Synergy to avoid duplicate screenings Print and send referral letters that are provided to the health offices to disseminate to families Notify health offices when it is time to print the preferential seating list Communicate professionally and routinely with all district staff who contact the department. Route calls and requests to appropriate staff members or audiologists and communicate messages as required For junior high and high school hearing screenings, communicate regularly with health offices in accordance to the schedule and discuss special requests that can be completed by a nurse or health assistant Review and assist in generating the end-of-year hearing and vision screening state report. Communicate the instructions for the health offices to run their reports and submit them to ASHS, as the state requires Open department mail and distribute to appropriate staff Participate in job interviews and selection process as requested by department management Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities, if time allows Assist with making clinic appointments, and make confirmation calls the day before clinic appointments Schedule annual calibration for audiology sound booths and equipment Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools

High School education or equivalent

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Located in district office, which is climate-controlled and has standard office furniture Frequent contact with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and sometimes outside visitors The environment can be busy and sometimes hectic, especially during the beginning and end of the school day or around special events Regular use of phones, computers, copiers, fax machines, and printers Mostly sedentary work, but there may be frequent need to stand, walk, or move around the office Occasionally required to lift or carry boxes, files, or office supplies (typically up to 20-25 lbs)
