Job Description

Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract Step into an educational setting where your expertise as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) professional truly makes a difference. We're seeking a dedicated full-time DHH Aide to work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a welcoming school environment. This contract position runs from August 26 to June 27, offering the chance to support student growth and provide meaningful assistance throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Background in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education, such as Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Hearing Impaired Specialist experience Familiarity with ASL (American Sign Language) and/or other communication modalities commonly used in DHH settings Ability to adapt and tailor communication strategies to individual student needs Experience supporting students with diverse learning backgrounds in a school setting Strong organizational skills and approachability when working with students, teachers, and families Commitment to confidentiality, respect, and professionalism within the classroom
Primary Responsibilities:
Support classroom teachers in implementing instructional plans for students who are DHH Provide one-on-one or small group support to facilitate access to curriculum and classroom activities Serve as a communication bridge between students and staff Aid in the use and maintenance of assistive technologies and accommodations Foster an inclusive, positive, and accessible learning environment Maintain accurate records of student progress and daily activities Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to enhance student success If you're passionate about making education accessible and engaging for every student, this could be the perfect opportunity.
