Job Description
Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract A school is seeking a qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to support students in Orland Park, IL. This contract role involves providing specialized instruction and consultation services throughout the regular school year, with additional Extended School Year (ESY) services during the summer months.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 100 minutes per week of direct instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students during the regular school year. Provide 180 minutes per month of consultation services to classroom teachers and staff. Conduct ESY services from June 15 to July 24, Monday through Friday, including 100 minutes per week of direct hearing itinerant instruction and 75 minutes per month of consultation. Collaborate with educators, families, and related professionals to support student communication and learning needs. Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual student goals.Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher. Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting. Ability to provide both direct instruction and consultative services effectively. Familiarity with relevant educational laws and best practices for students with hearing impairments. Strong communication and collaboration skills.Location:
