84344BR Otolaryngology-Audiology Job Posting Description General Summary Performs audiological assists during audiological evaluations under the supervision of an audiologist. Troubleshoots hearing technology devices, recommend repairs, and drafts requests for authorization of parts and repairs. Maintains organization and records of hearing technology equipment and schedules appointments and meetings as needed. Key Responsibilities Assists audiologist in maintaining the child's participation in listening tasks during audiological evaluations. Under the supervision of an audiologist, instructs patients and families in the use of hearing technology equipment. Documents screening results per Hospital's protocol. Reports results to supervising audiologist and parent/guardian according to protocol. Maintains supply and organization of patient and family education materials. Troubleshoots hearing technology devices, hands-on or over the phone, recommend repairs, and drafts requests for authorization of parts and repairs. Changes parts and batteries of hearing technology devices. Enters a patient's previously stored programs from a computer into a replacement or repaired hearing technology device. Packs hearing technology device for mailing, with forms and instructions for handling. Packs malfunctioning devices for return to the manufacturer. Documents device replacement and repairs. Maintains organization and records of hearing technology equipment in the Audiology Program. Maintains organization of clinical environment and toys including washing and sanitizing toys and equipment parts. Maintains clinical and research files and records. Performs routine clerical duties, such as sending outpatient reports, opening and sorting mail, delivering and retrieving patient records, photocopying materials, and sorting, collating, and distributing documents. Fills out and submits equipment warranty registrations. Enters information from source documents into computer databases and/or spreadsheets, compiling, printing, and distributing periodic reports, mailing labels, and other information as needed. Minimum Requirements Education and License Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences, Disorders or area accepted by Massachusetts Licensing Board to qualify for state licensure. Current Massachusetts license as an Audiology Assistant Experience Analytical skills and sound judgment to interpret data and respond appropriately to varying circumstances Effective verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated empathy and ability to interact effectively with children and families Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills Status Full-Time Regular, Temporary, Per Diem Regular Standard Hours per Week 40 Pay Range $22.35-$35.76 Hourly Office/Site Location Lexington Job Posting Category Clinical Remote Eligibility Onsite Only
