Job Description:
Audiology Assistant at a fully functioning clinic in an educational setting. •Join a collegial team consisting of audiologists, speech and language pathologists, and teachers of the deaf who strive to do the very best for each individual child and family.•The Audiology Assistant I assists pediatric audiologists and performs delegated tasks that are prescribed, directed, and supervised by a certified and/or licensed audiologist.
Job Type:
Full Time; in person (preferred) Part Time; in person (considered) Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned as required.) Assists with hearing testing and hearing aid and cochlear implant programming Maintains function and calibration of audiology equipment Handles repairs and troubleshooting of patient equipment and loaner devices Completes a variety of administrative tasks Handles all mailing for the audiology department Manages department phone/email and communicates with device manufacturers, other professionals, and parents/caregivers/patients Performs inventory, orders supplies, and keeps audiology spaces stocked/cleaned Uses the CounselEAR electronic medical records system to manage patient information and schedule appointments if requested Required skills/
Qualifications:
A good candidate for this position will: Enjoy working with children Have basic child behavior management skills Be organized, internally motivated, detail oriented, and able to multitask Have a desire to learn Be able to work well with others and be part of a team Have good communication skills Have basic computer skills including understanding of Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook Have basic knowledge of office management, clerical, administrative tasks (scanning, copying, faxing, etc.) Have appropriate, professional phone/email etiquette Desired skills: Experience working with children Experience with CounselEAR or other EMR database Healthcare or education background Knowledge about audiology Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Writing/editing experience or skills
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences or Speech and Hearing or related field (preferred) Associate's Degree in related field or equivalent work history (considered) At least 1 year working with children (considered)
