Job Description

Description A Brief Overview Under the direction of an audiologist, performs activities such as: universal infant hearing screening & assessment program at UHCMC, hearing aid check in, assisting with team testing of pediatric patients, automated intra operative testing for cochlear implants, ordering of hearing aids and supplies, etc. All work is supervised and cosigned by a licensed audiologist What You Will Do Evaluation of patient medical status and readiness for testing. Implement infant hearing assessment procedures. Equipment use and maintenance. Documentation and patient record management. Implement Follow-up protocol & procedures. Electronic charting and charging. Training and supervision. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Required) or
Other Accredited Program:
CMA degree (Preferred) Work Experience Previous experience in patient care or medical setting (Required) Background in electrode application techniques (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of basic sciences (Required proficiency) Physically, cognitively and perceptually able to provide patient care and handle equipment associated with job.
