Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Hearing Instrument Specialist Apprentice and embark on an exciting journey to develop expertise in hearing healthcare! This paid apprenticeship offers a comprehensive training experience, combining hands-on patient interactions with professional mentorship. You will support the assessment, fitting, and adjustment of hearing devices while gaining vital knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to hearing health. This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about improving patients' quality of life through specialized hearing solutions. Duties Master clinic operations by training in all Patient Care Coordinator functions, including high-volume scheduling, insurance verification, and logistics management (shipping/receiving). Assist licensed Hearing Instrument Specialists in conducting patient assessments and intake procedures Complete professional certification requirements, including enrollment in the International Hearing Society (IHS) Distance Learning Course (Company Paid) and successfully passing the Pennsylvania Department of Health Hearing Aid Fitters exam to obtain state licensure. Support the fitting, programming, and adjustment of hearing instruments based on patient needs and audiometric data Participate in patient education by explaining device functions, maintenance routines, and hearing health strategies Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, assessments, and device modifications in compliance with healthcare standards Support the clinic's adherence to health protocols and safety guidelines. Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing the dispensing of hearing instruments Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth patient experience from intake through follow-up appointments Skills Display strong clinical leadership and sales aptitude, understanding that our mission to improve lives is only fulfilled when we successfully guide patients to accept and invest in our treatment recommendations Demonstrate a high degree of industriousness by proactively managing downtime to maintain clinic readiness, stock supplies, and stay ahead of the daily patient schedule Exhibit a self-motivated work ethic, showing a readiness to pivot quickly between administrative tasks and clinical support in a fast-paced environment Ability to perform patient intake interviews effectively and compassionately Excellent patient service skills with a focus on clear communication and empathy Ability to learn technical aspects of hearing instrument fitting, programming, and troubleshooting through hands-on trainingThis paid apprenticeship is designed to equip you with the essential skills needed for a successful career as a Hearing Instrument Specialist.
