Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mohs Technician to join our dynamic dermatology and surgical team. In this vital role, you will support the Mohs micrographic surgery process by preparing, processing, and examining skin tissue specimens with precision and care. Your expertise will directly contribute to accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans for patients with skin cancers. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills in laboratory procedures, patient care, and pathology are essential to delivering exceptional clinical outcomes. Duties Prepare patient skin samples for microscopic examination following strict aseptic techniques Collect, label, and process tissue specimens with meticulous attention to detail Assist the surgeon during Mohs micrographic procedures, including handling instruments and maintaining sterile fields Perform specimen processing tasks such as embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting tissue samples Record detailed patient information, vital signs, and procedural notes accurately in medical records Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards Support patient care activities by providing comfort, explaining procedures, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the process Traveling between our 3 locations to assist with Mohs. Experience Clinical laboratory experience with tissue specimen processing or histology preferred Research laboratory experience involving microscopy or tissue analysis is highly valued Knowledge of laboratory techniques such as embedding, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation Familiarity with medical terminology related to pathology, anatomy, and physiology Experience in specimen collection and processing within hospital or outpatient settings Understanding of laboratory procedures including aseptic technique and handling of biological materials Prior exposure to dermatology or surgical environments is a plus but not required This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their expertise in dermatologic surgery support while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Pay:
