This position is dedicated exclusively to Mohs surgery and frozen section histology. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of producing consistently high-quality slides in a fast-paced surgical environment. Job Overview The Mohs Histology Technician will be responsible for tissue processing, embedding, cryostat sectioning, staining, coverslipping, slide preparation, and maintaining laboratory quality standards during Mohs surgical procedures. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting surgeons and clinical staff. Responsibilities
  • Process and prepare Mohs tissue specimens.
  • Embed tissue and perform cryostat sectioning.
  • Perform H&E staining and slide preparation.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and quality control procedures.
  • Ensure accurate specimen identification and tracking.
  • Follow all CLIA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements.
  • Assist with laboratory inventory and supply management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Collaborate with Mohs surgeons and clinical teams to support efficient patient care. Qualifications
  • Previous Mohs histology experience preferred.
  • Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong cryostat sectioning and embedding skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client locations as needed. What We Offer
