Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Histotechnician, where you will play a vital role in preparing and processing tissue specimens for diagnostic and research purposes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, utilizing your expertise in laboratory techniques, specimen handling, and pathology to support accurate diagnoses and groundbreaking research. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality will contribute directly to patient care and scientific advancement. Responsibilities Prepare tissue specimens through embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting for microscopic examination Collect and process biological samples with precision, ensuring proper labeling and documentation Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and laboratory safety protocols during all procedures Perform routine laboratory tasks such as recording vital signs, managing specimen storage, and maintaining equipment calibration Assist with research laboratory activities by following experimental protocols and documenting results accurately Support patient care activities by understanding medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to specimen collection and processing Ensure compliance with hospital or clinical standards by adhering to established laboratory procedures and quality control measures

Qualifications Degree:

Certificate Education:

Graduate from a histology technician training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or educational program acceptable to the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Certification:

Certification and registration as a Histotechnician/ Histotechnologist from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (HT-ASCP/HTL-ASCP) preferred.

Experience:

One year of experience within the last three years as a Histotechnician.
