It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns. The Histotechnologist performs the various procedures employed to generate microscopic slides for our Pathologists. Processes specimens according to identified procedures in the gross area. Properly identifies patients throughout the accessioning process. Enters and verifies correct patient demographic information from the requisition. Performs tissue embedding. Properly identifies patients throughout process. Prepares slides and stains according to SOP. Maintains equipment and reagents as identified on maintenance schedules. Documents for all equipment maintenance. Troubleshoots equipment and procedures and demonstrates a good working knowledge of equipment functions. Performs Quality Control according to established procedures. Meets or exceeds the quality guidelines and turnaround times as established by our Pathologists Qualifications Twelve (12) months of training in an approved and accredited school of histology is preferred. American Society of Clinical Pathologists registered or eligible preferred. At least one (1) year of clinical histology experience. Have at least one (1) year of histology experience preferred. Must be able to read, speak and write using the English language. We take great care of careers .
