Job Description:
Prepares and processes tissue samples for routine and complex histologic techniques to be examined under a microscope by a pathologist. The histologic techniques include the following: fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining (H&E and Special Stains) of human tissue for evaluation. This includes complex histologic techniques such as enzyme histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, cryotomy, immunofluorescence, and tissue microarray. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree OR successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnologist program. ASCP Histotechnologist Certification Or, ASCP Histotechnician with 3-5 years relevant experience. Ability to comply with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements by following established procedures in order to maintain a safe laboratory environment and to meet accreditation standards. Ability to be flexible as required to adapt to laboratory needs as related to testing and scheduling. Knowledgeable in the areas of pathology, management, education, and regulations that impact the field of histotechnology. We take great care of careers.
