Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in Tallahassee, where your technical expertise will lead the way at a physician office laboratory for gastroenterology. Flexible hours and start date. Self-managed individuals with Lab Information System experience in accessioning, grossing and microtomy a plus (AP Easy Cloud). Duties Collect, process, and prepare biological specimens for laboratory analysis using proper techniques such as phlebotomy and aseptic methods Conduct routine laboratory tests following established protocols, ensuring precision and reliability of results Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, test results, and laboratory procedures using medical terminology and laboratory records management systems Monitor vital signs and assess physiological data as needed to support patient care and research activities Support hospital staff by performing specimen handling, processing, and storage according to safety standards Assist with research laboratory experiments by preparing reagents, setting up equipment, and recording experimental data Follow all safety guidelines related to pathology, anatomy knowledge, and laboratory techniques to ensure a secure environment for staff and patients Qualifications Prior experience in clinical or research laboratories demonstrating proficiency in laboratory procedures and techniques Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology essential for accurate testing and documentation Hands-on experience with specimen collection methods such as venipuncture (phlebotomy) and other sample processing techniques Familiarity with hospital environments, including understanding of patient care protocols and vital signs monitoring Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently Ability to adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and safety standards in all laboratory activities Relevant certifications or training in laboratory sciences or phlebotomy are preferred but not mandatory This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute their laboratory expertise within a supportive healthcare setting.
