Responsibilities Performs technical laboratory functions using professional knowledge of laboratory procedures in an accurate and timely manner. Organizes and delineates duties and responsibilities of personnel in the laboratory section. Makes decisions based on his/her skills, knowledge and abilities that are consistent with established hospital and laboratory services policies, procedures and protocols. Qualifications Education H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and Must meet the requirements for a Histology Technician or Technologist as specified by the Rules of Regulations of the Georgia Department of Human Resources Laboratory Licensure Division (refer to GDHR Department of Community Health Healthcare Facility Clinical Laboratory regulations. Required Work Experience 3 years of technical experience in a surgical pathology laboratory Required Licenses and Certifications HT - Histotechnologist - ASCP Current certification as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist (ASCP or equivalent)
