Cuts, mounts and stains tissue blocks; prepares reagents for tissue processing; knows policies and procedures and adheres to everything; knows the importance of age-specific needs as defined in the age-specific competency checklist; assists the pathology secretary as needed to type dictation so that reports are available to be signed by pathologist and reported in a timely manner each day.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
Licenses, Certification, Etc:
Certification as a Histology Technician (HLT) or Histology Technologist (HT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent. (Individuals with demonstrated competencies may also be considered as equivalent.)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years technical experience in surgical pathology, preferably in an acute care hospital setting Preferred 2 years of clinical experience and 1 year of supervisory responsibilities in surgical pathology in an acute care hospital setting

Full Time, Days, 0800-1630
