Position purpose The Grossing Technician's main responsibility is accessioning, documenting and preparing biopsies in the pathology laboratory. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Provide back up for Lab Assistant duties Gross, embed, and stain tissue according to designated procedures Complete assigned workload within prescribed time limit Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining Maintain legible, accurate complete logs and record of testing Distributing slides to pathologists Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment Troubleshoot procedures and instrumentation Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations Maintain a clean and well-organized work area Other duties, as assigned
