Histotechnician Full-Time I First Shift Laboratory I Lexington, KY Baptist Health Clinical Lab and Pathology Department, where science meets compassion and precision meets care. Description The Histotechnologist independently performs, interprets, validates and correlates tests as ordered by physicians by following the approved departmental procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agencies. The Histotechnologist determines that the test results meet requirements of the quality control program and if not met, repeat test and ensure the results are approved for reporting. The Histotechnologist expected to utilize complex problem-solving skills in resolving clinical and instrument problems. Seeks out additional tasks when workload is slow. Assists others with different aspects of the job. Assists with answering the phone promptly and courteously. Assists with supplies - ordering, stocking, and notifies appropriate personnel of departmental supply needs to ensure uninterrupted testing. Assists with additional departmental tasks as needed or assigned. Assists with training of students and new employees. Perform duties above and beyond routine tasks. Plans, organizes, coordinates and follows up on assignments in an effective and timely manner.

Requirements:

Associate degree. In lieu of degree 8 years of full-time experience in a histopathology laboratory. One year experience in histopathology laboratory. Certified Histotechnician. Must obtain Histotechnician within 1 year.
