$54.31 Competitive Pay Packages Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit (W-2) Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program 24/7 dedicated team committed to your success throughout your time with VHS Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state/federal/local laws Licensure-certification, travel and other reimbursements when applicable What You'll Do Receive and accessions surgical, biopsy, and autopsy specimens for routine tissue processing and microscopic examination. Embed tissues in paraffin , and cut/stain/label slides for accurate histology results. Perform special procedures including special stains and immunohistochemistry (as assigned). Prepare tissue and slides for special testing/send-outs , including packaging, transportation, documentation, and billing. Maintain control slides and document QC details in control tissue logs (including case number and QC date). Maintain equipment and lab areas (e.g., tissue processors, embedding center, microtomy equipment, H&E and immunostainers) and complete required quality control documentation. Support quality and continuous improvement by following safety guidelines and assisting with troubleshooting and operational audits as needed. What You Need Required Histotechnologist (HTL) (ASCP) registration Current Louisiana license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Specialist or Generalist 2+ years histology/histotechnology experience Computer skills for data entry and retrieval using Windows-style applications and keyboard proficiency Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in communication Preferred Not specified About the Assignment In this histology role, you will support routine and advanced tissue processing workflows—embedding, sectioning, staining, slide labeling, and specialty procedures—so the lab team can deliver reliable microscopic examination results. You'll also help maintain quality control practices, lab readiness, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
