Histotechnologist

Histotechnologist Holyoke Medical Center is a proud 198-bed community hospital that has served the healthcare needs of the pioneer valley for over 125 years. We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care. Our laboratory team is looking for an ASCP registered, or registry eligible, histotechnologist who believes in our Lab's Mission Statement of working collaboratively to ensure quality results for every patient every time. Duties include tissue embedding and cutting, gross examination, frozen sections, H&E and IHC staining, cytology prep, send-out test processing, maintaining equipment and clerical duties.

REQUIREMENTS

Associate's Degree or graduate of an accredited program as a Histotechnologist; certification as a Histotechnologist (HT/HTL, ASCP), or eligible for certification; one year of recent experience as a Histotechnologist, including Immunohistochemistry and Frozen Section process Applicants must have: A passion for caring for a community through quality work in a stand-alone hospital lab. A drive to learn new practices to be able to adapt to our rapidly growing test menu. A willingness to offer new ideas to the team to help with our culture of continuous improvement. The ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
