Job Description

Join our 2nd Shift Pathology Services Team as a Histology Technician I , where you'll gain hands-on training in histology processes and build foundational lab skills. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates interested in laboratory science, pathology, or biological research. You'll work under close supervision while developing skills in tissue processing, slide preparation, and lab operations in a regulated environment. What You'll Do Assist with tissue processing including trimming, embedding, and measuring organ weights Perform microtomy, slide preparation, and staining Support sample handling, labeling, tracking, and shipping Maintain inventory, quality control, and documentation Operate and maintain lab equipment and instruments Prepare materials and documentation for pathologist review Perform cleaning, decontamination, and safety procedures Accurately collect and record data (paper and electronic systems) Follow GLP, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines Ensure humane handling and care of research animals What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED (required) Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn laboratory techniques and terminology Work Environment & Schedule 2nd Shift position May require extended hours, weekends, or overtime Work performed in a laboratory setting with regulated procedures Additional Requirements Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Ability to follow all safety protocols and use PPE Ability to work under time-sensitive conditions Pay Transparency Compensation starts at $20/hour and may vary based on experience, education, and skills.
