Histology Technician Location:
Near New Baltimore, MI Overview:
Our pathology laboratory is seeking an experienced Histology Technician to support the preparation and processing of tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation. This role focuses on gross examination, tissue processing, staining, and slide preparation while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.
Position Offers:
Part-time flexible schedule, Monday-Friday, flexible between 6:00 AM-10:00
PM Competitive Compensation:

Key Responsibilities:
Perform gross examination of skin specimens including description, inking, dissection, and tissue selection Process, embed, section, cut, mount, and stain tissue specimens for microscopic review Perform routine and special staining procedures with appropriate controls and reagent preparation Produce high-quality slides following established laboratory protocols Maintain daily workload logs, batching, caseload tracking, and documentation Conduct quality control checks, maintenance logs, and safety compliance monitoring Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed Identify and resolve issues such as staining variations, equipment malfunctions, and specimen concerns Assist team members with workflow support as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of histology experience in a clinical or pathology laboratory setting ASCP certification in Histotechnology Experience with tissue processing, microtomy, and histologic staining techniques Familiarity with laboratory information systems Strong knowledge of quality control, safety standards, and laboratory compliance Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
