Pay Range:

$27.00-$35.00 per hour (based on experience) Qualifications (Required & Preferred)

Required:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field Minimum 60 semester hours (including): 6 hours of Chemistry 6 hours of Biology 12 additional hours in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Laboratory Technology Strong knowledge of histology, tissue processing, and laboratory procedures Experience working in a clinical lab, pathology lab, or healthcare setting Excellent attention to detail with ability to produce accurate results under time constraints Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with microscopic specimens and precision instruments Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment Basic computer skills and strong communication abilities

Preferred:

Previous experience in Mohs surgery, dermatology, or histology laboratory Familiarity with cryostats, H&E staining, and immunohistochemistry Experience working under CLIA high-complexity testing standards Job Summary Tareen Dermatology is seeking a detail-oriented Mohs Technician to join our growing, state-of-the-art histology laboratory. This role is critical in supporting Mohs surgeons and pathologists by preparing high-quality tissue sections for accurate and timely diagnosis. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced clinical lab environment and is passionate about precision, patient care, and laboratory excellence. Key Responsibilities Prepare histologic slides and frozen sections for microscopic examination Perform tissue embedding, cutting, staining, and specimen preservation Execute Mohs tissue mapping, orientation, and processing with high accuracy Perform grossing/dissection of dermatologic specimens Operate laboratory equipment including cryostats, microscopes, and H&E stainers Prepare special stains and immunohistochemistry samples Accession and label specimens, maintaining accurate Mohs logs and documentation Ensure quality control and maintain lab equipment, inventory, and logs Follow all CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations Collaborate with providers and lab team to ensure timely patient diagnosis and care Perform other duties as assigned Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work performed in a clinical and laboratory setting Requires standing, walking, sitting, and fine motor skills Ability to lift up to 10 pounds Requires strong visual acuity (color vision, depth perception, focus) Must be comfortable working with biological specimens and lab equipment About Tareen Dermatology Tareen Dermatology is dedicated to providing compassionate, state-of-the-art dermatologic care with an emphasis on early diagnosis, patient education, and comprehensive skincare.
