Hours :
Day (7a-330p), Evening (3p-1130p), and Night (11p-730a) shift available
Days :
M-F, Rotating weekends

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Responsible for providing a variety of basic routine and special tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination to aid in the confirmation of patient diagnosis. Analyzes and records data, performs instrument maintenance and utilizes established protocols. Responsibilities Tasks limited to microtomy, embedding, staining. Performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Understands maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas. Has minimal understanding of test principles. Performs technical skills to embed, cut and stain tissue from a variety of body sites. Knowledge of neuropathology, pediatrics and subspecialized anatomic pathology. With guidance may provide slides, tissue sections and ribbons for a variety of research and clinical trial protocols Prepare slides for whole slide digital imaging during frozen section procedures BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job. Minimum Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED Experience
