Travel Histotechnologist II Opportunity -
Oklahoma City, OK Location:
700 NE 13th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Shift:
5x8 Evenings (40 Hours Weekly)
Weekly Gross Pay:
$2,100/week $18.50/hr on W2 + $1,360 Weekly Per Diem Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Histotechnologist II for a travel assignment in Oklahoma City, OK. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume histology laboratory performing routine and advanced histological procedures essential for patient diagnosis and treatment. Key Responsibilities Receive, verify, and accession tissue specimens from clinical services and autopsy suites. Ensure proper specimen fixation and identification. Assist pathologists with gross tissue dissection and specimen preparation. Process tissue specimens through all phases of preservation and fixation. Embed, section, and mount tissue samples for microscopic examination. Perform routine and specialized histology staining procedures. Conduct immunohistochemistry and other advanced histological techniques. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and laboratory data collection. Maintain accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with laboratory standards. Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Histology or Natural Sciences Current ASCP Certification as one of the following: HT (Histotechnician) / HTL (Histotechnologist) Required Skills Strong knowledge of tissue processing, microtomy, special stains, and immunohistochemistry. Ability to maintain specimen integrity and accurate identification. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Preferred Qualifications One or more years of histology laboratory experience.
