Willing to accept a Certified Histotechnician or a Certified Histotechnologist. Salary is based on years of relevant experience. Plus, you may earn extra shift differentials for swing, night, and weekend hours. External candidates may be eligible for Relocation Assistance! Position Summary for a Certified Histotechnician Our Histology department processes a wide variety of specimens. In addition to routine histology we perform IHC and special stains. The Histotechnician should possess sound organizational skills that support accuracy & attention to detail under stressful, high-paced work conditions. Also, they should encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers & other departments and display collaborative effort to maximize efficiency in daily workflow. As a Histotechnician you will have the opportunity to perform all procedures required to prepare tissue specimens for histological diagnosis by the Pathologist. Qualifications One of the following is required Associate degree in a laboratory science
- OR•Successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited Histotechnician program•OR•Education/experience demonstrating qualifications to take and successfully complete the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) Histotechnician exam), experience is defined as a minimum of 60 college credit hours with at least 18 combined biology/chemistry credits Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution
Licensure/Certifications HT:
Histotechnician registered by Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required within 6 months of hire Position Summary for a Certified Histotechnologist A histotechnologist performs all routine histology functions of the Histotechnician role in addition to high-complexity histologic and immunohistochemical procedures, test development and validation activities, and advanced technical consultation. Position Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution is required Certification/Licensure Successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited Histological Technician program

HTL:
