Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more. Responsibilities The Histotechnician I (non-certified) functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for pre-analytical specimen preparation and processing; embedding, microtomy and maintaining the equipment under the direction of Histology/Pathology department leadership, Pathologist or designee. The position may also perform specimen grossing of surgically removed tissue under the supervision of the Pathologist. All duties performed will be within the guidelines set forth by regulatory and hospital guidelines to maintain, manage and assure specimen integrity.Qualifications Job Requirements:
Associates degree in histotechnology, laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology, obtained from an accredited institution, OR education / training equivalent. Must possess good writing and verbal skillsPreferred Job Requirements:
