The Histology Technologist position is responsible for performing all tests from routine to a complex nature that use advanced knowledge of histological technique and related instruments. This position exhibits the ability to recognize factors that directly affect procedures and results and implements corrective actions, when necessary, uses and monitors quality control programs, and performs instrument maintenance. The Histology Technologist performs routine and advanced histology techniques including special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) as directed while supporting laboratory workflow, quality, and efficiency. Additional responsibilities include directing workflow and training others as assigned and demonstrating self-motivation in performing job duties and following procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
40 % Performs embedding, microtomy, routine H&E staining, and slide preparation ensuring high-quality sections for diagnosis. 30 % Performs special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures as directed Maintains QC documentation, reagent preparation, and ensures specimen integrity and compliance with standards. 20 % Maintains QC documentation, reagent preparation, and ensures specimen integrity and compliance with standards. 5 % Maintains equipment, workstations, and ensures proper laboratory safety and regulatory compliance. Perform routine cleaning. 5 % Support workflow coverage, cross-train, and assist in other lab areas as needed. Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved program required under ASCP to obtain required certification 1+ years of experience as a Histology Technologist highly preferred HTL(ASCP)

  • American Society for Clinical Pathology Proven solid attention to detail and organizational skills Proven solid manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a high-volume environment Proven ability to work in high-volume environment and maintain turnaround times
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of formal histology training program or equivalent on-the-job training Experience with special stains and immunohistochemistry Familiarity with medical terminology and LIS systems (e.g., Epic Beaker) Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
