Life:
Properly map and process specimens while ensuing proper labelling and documentation Perform routine histological procedures, including tissue embedding, sectioning, microtomy, staining (e.g., H&E, special stains), and cover slipping Efficiently organize, file, log, and able to locate all slides/blocks and dispose of outdated slides/blocks as necessary per
CAP/CLIA
regulations Performs routine inspections and audits to ensure equipment is being maintained and functioning appropriately Reports findings to the appropriate person or arranges for repairs, as required Assist with inventory management and ordering to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA and clinic standards Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Comply with all relevant laboratory accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA). Working with management in preparation for routine CLIA inspections Responsible for keeping record of all QC/QA charts Other administrative or clinical duties as requested
Requirements:
Minimum one year of related laboratory experience as a technician, preferably in a physician practice or ambulatory environment. High School Diploma or GED required, with preference to secondary education Minimum 6 months experience working with cryostat.
