Travel Technician (Histotech / Histotechnologist)

3+ months
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (1st Shift)
Work Arrangement:
Position Summary The primary responsibility of the Travel Technician is to travel to designated locations and perform routine medical laboratory testing to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Key Responsibilities Set up, adjust, maintain, and clean medical laboratory equipment. Perform laboratory testing and analyze results to ensure conformity to specifications. Gather, analyze, and document test data accurately. Prepare reports using charts, graphs, and written narratives. Obtain and process specimens for laboratory analysis. Cultivate, isolate, and identify microorganisms when required. Examine stained cells and tissues to identify abnormalities. Consult with pathologists regarding abnormal findings and assist in the diagnostic process. Qualifications & Experience Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Basic knowledge of medical laboratory procedures and disease diagnosis. Ability to analyze data and accurately document results. High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree in Medical Technology or relevant vocational training preferred. Preferred Histology Experience Histotech or Histotechnologist background. Experience with microtomy, embedding, and grossing. Ability to work in a high-volume histology environment. ASCP certification preferred. Strong production capabilities and travel readiness. Mobile-Optimized JD Summary Travel Histotech needed for a Seattle onsite assignment (06/07-09/05). Perform microtomy, embedding, grossing, and high-volume histology work. ASCP preferred. Strong production experience and travel flexibility required.
