Job Description

Respite Provider Part-Time | Flexible Scheduling Available Provide Meaningful Support to Families and Individuals in a Home Setting Looking for flexible, rewarding work where you can make a direct impact in someone's life? Join our team as a Respite Provider and help support individuals and families by providing compassionate care in a home environment while giving caregivers time to rest and recharge. Position Summary The Respite Provider delivers short-term direct care and supervision to eligible participants in their home setting. This role helps provide relief for parents, guardians, and family caregivers while ensuring participants receive safe, supportive, and engaging care that meets their emotional, physical, and health-related needs. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision based on participant needs and caregiver instructions Assist with activities of daily living and in-home support as needed Observe participant health and safety needs and respond appropriately Prepare meals and assist with nutritional support and meal-related activities Supervise and engage participants in home-based activities Request or provide emergency assistance when necessary Complete daily documentation and case notes accurately and timely Enter participant information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system Attend trainings, staff meetings, and in-service sessions Maintain compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements Perform additional support duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required One year of verifiable work experience preferred, especially in human services, healthcare, or social services Must meet agency driving requirements (minimum age 21 and licensed for at least 3 years) Reliable transportation and good driving record required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Genuine interest in supporting the emotional, physical, and health needs of participants Ability to communicate effectively with participants, families, and team members Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule Experience with meal preparation, household support, and direct care preferred Basic computer skills and ability to learn EMR systems Ability to learn new software and technology applications Required Certifications (Agency Provided) CPR Certification First Aid Certification Geri-Care Certification Valid Alaska Driver's License required Additional Requirements Annual PPD/TB screening Hepatitis B immunization or signed waiver Working Conditions This position involves physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and assisting participants within a home environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Why Join Our Team?
