In this vital role, you will provide hands-on assistance to individuals with diverse needs, empowering them to live independently and thrive within their communities. Your energetic approach and genuine kindness will foster a safe, respectful environment that promotes dignity, well-being, and happiness. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive personal care to residents or clients, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect privacy. Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and care plans developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are upheld. Participate in ongoing training related to CPR, first aid, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), hospice care, autism support, and other specialized areas of patient care. Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans that address each resident's unique needs. Assist with transportation using appropriate equipment for medical appointments or community outings when necessary. Engage in patient observation to identify potential health concerns early and escalate issues promptly to supervisors or healthcare providers. Requirements Proven experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and care planning processes. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or nursing assistant credentials are advantageous. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other cognitive impairments is desirable. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; stamina for standing, walking long periods, and assisting with mobility tasks. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and engaging positively with residents or clients. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing needs. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all safety protocols related to patient privacy (HIPAA compliance). Join us in making a profound impact on the lives of those we serve! Your energy, compassion, and dedication will help create a nurturing environment where individuals feel valued and supported every step of the way.
