Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. MUST HAVE TRANSPORTATION AND A VALID LICENSE!
! Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using tools such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Administer medications and follow care plans meticulously to ensure safety and compliance with healthcare standards. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, contributing to residents' overall health and well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks within the resident's living space and common areas. Support residents in engaging with community activities, social events, and recreational programs to promote socialization and mental stimulation. Document care activities thoroughly in accordance with facility policies and state regulations. Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, including providing first aid or CPR when necessary. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, families, and team members to develop and update personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Use patient observation skills to identify changes in behavior or health status that may require further intervention or medical attention. Assist residents with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's (personal assistive devices). Support residents with specialized needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, or hospice care by applying appropriate techniques and patience. Engage in ongoing training related to home & community care practices, HIPAA compliance, nursing home standards, and other relevant certifications like CPR or first aid. Skills Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, group homes, nursing homes, or home & community care environments. Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with medication administration procedures following safety protocols. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, healthcare teams, and community members. Compassionate demeanor combined with patience when supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or memory care needs. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of resident information at all times. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team committed to quality caregiving. Flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Basic cooking skills for meal preparation that meets nutritional guidelines for various health conditions. Join us in making a positive impact!
