Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs in a group home or home care setting. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for residents by promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being. Duties Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Support individuals in developing and maintaining life skills through structured activities and social interactions. Ensure resident rights are respected and upheld at all times. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' mental well-being. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's unique needs, including those requiring dementia care or memory care. Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Document daily activities, progress, and any changes in residents' conditions accurately. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care. Experience Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, particularly in home health or group home settings. Knowledge of resident rights and best practices in home care is essential. Familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus. Experience working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments is highly valued. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and their families are crucial for success in this role.
