At least 6 months of paid experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required. Applicants without this experience will not be considered. MERCI is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive residential and support services for adults with developmental disabilities. Job Responsibilities include:

Ensure consumer's safety, dignity, and well-being as well as providing residents with any required help in fulfilling their personal and private needs in a residential setting, which may include assistance with daily living (e.g. bathing, cooking, light cleaning, laundry and changing adult briefs, if needed). Assist in the successful inclusion process, backing away when appropriate Complete all documentation required; to include incident reports, allocation records, consumer charting Attend regular staff meetings, in-services and trainings One year from date of hire must satisfactorily complete the first 35-hour DSPI training course. Two years from date of hire must satisfactorily complete the second 35-hour DSPII.

Job Qualifications:

At least 6 months paid experience with the developmentally disabled population Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral English communications Current First Aid/ CPR certification Ability to perform some lifting up to 50 pounds per person Must pass a health screening, including a TB test clearance Must pass a Criminal Record clearance, including fingerprinting Current California Driver's License and provide proof of insurance For more information visit us at www.merci.org or contact our human resource office at 626-289-8817.
